Accreditation of CME Programs

The Canadian Thoracic Society is an accredited continuing professional development (CPD) provider under the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada’s Maintenance of Certification program. As such, the CTS is qualified to accredit CPD programs as Section 1 Group Learning Activities.

Application for Accreditation - Provincial Thoracic Societies:

Consult the summary of requirements, fill in and submit your application form along with the society accreditation fee of $375 at least 8 weeks before your CPD program takes place. The fee includes a non-refundable deposit of $125.

Application for Accreditation - Other Physician and Non-physician Organizations:

The CTS does not accredit programs developed independently by organizations other than provincial thoracic societies. However, it does co-develop a limited number of programs with external organizations, and it accredits those programs.

If you’re interested in having a program considered for co-development, consult the CTS Co-Development Policy and send an email to ctsinfo@lung.ca for additional information.

All applications for co-development must be received before the development of the program has begun.
